Imagine having a perfect team and then a huge portion of that team erased from the roster at the last minute before a big bowl game. Oh, wait! That is exactly what happened to the Florida State Seminoles Football team. Where were Trey Benson, Keon Coleman, Jaheim Bell, etc.? They opted out. A week before the bowl game, Tate Rodemaker, the backup quarterback, opted out and added his name to a long list of the athletes who entered the transfer portal. By the time gameday arrived Head Coach Mike Norvell and his coaching staff were out there on the field working with a fresh team being forced to start at the basics of training. It took strength and courage for Coach Norvell, every athlete on the Seminole team who showed up to play, and everyone working with the team to step foot in Miami’s Hard Rock stadium knowing they were about to experience the beat down of a lifetime. Was the Orange Bowl game just thrown at the Seminole team to make matters worse so the College Football Playoff Committee could laugh and flaunt their travesty of a decision in ranking them at #5? Many people have a “yes” response to that question.
