Chattahoochee Main Street is bringing back a cherished local tradition with a fresh twist as it hosts the inaugural River Runaround 5K and 1-Mile Fun Run on Saturday, May 17 at River Landing Park.
The 5K race will kick off at 8:00 a.m. Eastern Time, with same-day registration and packet pickup beginning an hour earlier at 7:00 a.m. Participants of all ages and skill levels—runners, walkers, and families—are encouraged to take part in the event, which features scenic views along the Apalachicola River.
“We are excited to bring back our 5K race this year to our community and are looking forward to a great day down by the beautiful Apalachicola River,” said Pam Medley, Executive Director of Chattahoochee Main Street.
Registration for the 5K is $25 in advance and $30 on the day of the race. Children 12 and under can join the 1-Mile Fun Run for free, making it an accessible and enjoyable outing for the entire family.
Proceeds from the event will go toward local revitalization efforts led by Chattahoochee Main Street. The race is supported by several local sponsors, including Visit Historic Gadsden County, McDaniel’s Piggly Wiggly, BUNZL, and Torreya Realty.
