PumpkinFest returns to Havana next weekend

After putting a pause on the pumpkin-festivities last year, to observe COVID-19 precautions, the annual Havana fall festival is making a return this year.

PumpkinFest, a Havana tradition of 21-years, will be filling the streets with locals and visitors on October 9.

The annual festival will take place that Saturday, from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m.

Fans of the fest will be glad to see a return of many of the traditional festivities, as well as an introduction of new ways to enjoy the festival.

This year, the festival boasts a dramatic and festive return, as there will be pony rides and a petting zoo, face painting, costume contests for kids and canines, train rides, trolley rides, carriage rides, art vendors, food vendors, crafts, rides and slides, a pumpkin patch, pumpkin painting, and - of course - plenty of downtown shopping.

Merchants in downtown Havana will have their doors open wide, inviting festival-goers to stop in for a spell, explore all that Havana has to offer, and get a head-start on holiday shopping.

Live entertainment for the festival will be offered by Exit Smith.

Admission for the festival will be $3 for adults and $2 for kids - there will be additional fees for certain rides and activities.

Interested in being a vendor?

Applications for vendors and food trucks are still being accepted, but are quickly running out. If your business is interested in setting up a booth during the Havana PumpkinFest, register for a vendor spot at HavanaMainStreet.com/events-application.

During the PumpkinFest, Havana will also be hosting the Artists-Helping-Artists Gallery, located at 307 North Main Street. The gallery will be open from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. and will include a variety of art and handcrafted designs from regional artists.

Also going on during the October 9 festivities will be the Havana Farmer’s Market (located directly across from the Havana Police Department on 7th Avenue East). The market will offer up a variety of homemade items, locally-grown produce, and value-added goods. The market will be setting up shop from 10 a.m. through 1 p.m.
