A man was found shot to death early Friday morning in Gretna, sparking a homicide investigation that remains active as of Tuesday.
According to Gretna Police Chief Brian Alexander, a passerby discovered the victim, Barry Corker, Jr., around 7:30 a.m. near the intersection of Dewey Johnson Way and Williams Street. Authorities later determined that the victim’s vehicle had been stolen during the incident.
Police launched a search for the victim’s white Camaro. That car was located late Friday night in the Sycamore area of Gadsden County after a resident provided a tip. The vehicle is now being processed by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, which is assisting in the investigation along with the Gadsden County Sheriff’s Office.
As of Monday afternoon, no suspects have been identified and no arrests have been made.
