Mrs. Sallie Mae Knight Fields, 98, of Quincy, Florida, peacefully departed this life on Monday, January 12, 2026, in Quincy, Florida.
Sallie Mae Knight Fields was born on May 17, 1927, in Quincy, Florida, where she spent the majority of her life and became a beloved member of the Gadsden County community. She was a lifelong resident of Quincy and a faithful member of Mt. Carmel Primitive Baptist Church, where she found strength, fellowship, and spiritual grounding.
She leaves to cherish her precious memory her devoted family: Her daughter, Sandra (Willie Earl) Banks, of Quincy, Florida; Grandchildren: Anisha Banks, Shana Joiner (Kowalski) of Hampton, Georgia, Erin Rittman (Shontel) of Midway, Florida, and Willie Earl Banks, Jr. (Jeneika) of Quincy, Florida; A bonus son, Irvin Fields, of Quincy, Florida; Bonus grandchildren: Travis Banks of Havana, Florida, Nakia Birton of Tallahassee, Florida, and Ashley Banks of Tallahassee, Florida; Great-grandchildren: Darryn Gipson, Kyle Gipson, Raven Joiner, and Edison “Jack” Banks, all of whom brought her immense joy; Great-great-grandchildren: Aubrea Heard of Hampton, Georgia, Jordyn Nelson of Tallahassee, Florida, and Eriss Rittman of Midway, Florida; Siblings: Iris Murphy (Leroy) and Susie Maxwell, both of Climax, Georgia; Along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.
A Celebration of Life Service for Mrs. Sallie Mae Knight Fields will be held at 11a.m. on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at St. Hebron A.M.E. Church, Quincy, Florida. Interment will follow at Sunnyvale Cemetery, Quincy, Florida.
Public viewing will be held on Friday, January 23, 2026, from 3 to 6 p.m. at Bradwell Mortuary, Quincy, Florida.
