Carol Marie Mitchell Holloman

Ms. Carol Marie Mitchell Holloman entered the world as the oldest daughter of the late Marie Stokes and the late Henry Mitchell on August 4, 1944, in New Brunswick, New Jersey. She was raised in Quincy, Florida by her loving and doting grandmother and great-grandmother, the late Ophelia Stokes Baker and the late Amanda Edwards, whom she affectionately referred to as “Mama” and “Big Mama.”
On December 4, 2025, Carol answered the call of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to join Him in her heavenly home, where she was greeted by her youngest son, Chauncey M. Holloman, her beloved fur baby Randall also known as “Randy the Love Sponge,” and reunited with her beloved Mama and Big Mama. Her memory will be forever cherished by her children Carla M. Holloman, D.O., Tallahassee, FL; Charles M. Holloman II, Esq.(Chira), Riverview, FL; and Cedrick M. Holloman.  She will also be forever in the hearts of her grandchildren; Adrianne D. Horton Taylor, Ph.D. (Gabriel), Chamblee, GA; Amanda S. Horton, M.S. (Ezra Anderson), Tallahassee, FL; Allison M. Horton, Esq., Dallas, TX;  Jonathan C. Horton, MFA, Tallahassee, FL; and Ainsley C. Horton, DVM, Jacksonville, FL; Ciara G. Holloman, MPH, Tallahassee, FL; Cole M. W. Holloman, Tallahassee, FL; Cameron M. Holloman, Frederick, MD; honorary grandson Christian A. W. Jones, Tallahassee, FL; and her great-grandchildren whom affectionately called her “Grammy:” Leah G. Taylor, Chamblee, GA; Dominic Z. Mitchell Anderson, Tallahassee, FL; Caleb V. D. Anderson, Tallahassee, FL; Olivia C. E. Anderson, Tallahassee, FL; and Lailah F. Taylor, Chamblee, GA. In addition, she leaves behind her “best friend since the sandbox,” Sylvia Wynette Bradwell, Tallahassee, FL; her dedicated caretaker/newly christened daughter, Jennifer Moore Roberts, Attapulgus, GA; and a host of extended family, friends, colleagues, Sorors, and generations of students.
The Wake will be 4 p.m. – 6 p.m., Friday, December 12, 2025 at Mt. Moriah M. B. Church, Quincy, Florida. A celebration of life will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, December 13, 2025 at Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, Tallahassee, Florida, burial will be at Sunnyvale Cemetery, Quincy, Florida.
Services entrusted to Williams Funeral Home of Quincy, Florida.
