Gadsden County TimesA Saturday evening crash in Havana claimed the life of a Gretna man and left two others hospitalized with serious injuries, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The head-on collision occurred just after 5 p.m. on June 7 along State Road 12, also known as Havana Highway, near Wayne Gregory Road — about a mile and a half west of downtown Havana.
Florida Highway Patrol reports that a sedan driven by a 34-year-old Tallahassee man was traveling west when it veered into the eastbound lane and struck an oncoming SUV. The reason for the lane departure has not been released.
A 42-year-old man from Gretna, who was riding as a passenger in the sedan, was transported to the hospital but later pronounced dead. The driver of the sedan was critically injured and taken to Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare.
The driver of the SUV, a 37-year-old woman from Havana, also suffered serious injuries and was hospitalized.
All three individuals involved in the crash were wearing seat belts, troopers said. In accordance with Marsy’s Law, Florida Highway Patrol has not released the names of those involved.
