Meishikia Pringle of Havana Magnet School has been named April’s Teacher of the Month for, an honor sponsored by District 5 School Board Member Stacey Hannigon, Tyrone Davis & Direct Auto Exchange, and The Ivy Shop Florist.
According to Hannigon, Pringle exemplifies what it means to teach with purpose, passion, and heart. “There are educators who teach because it’s their job, and then there are those like Ms. Pringle who teach because it’s their calling,” Hannigon said.
Pringle’s commitment to her students reaches beyond academics. Hannigon praised her for creating an engaging, empowering environment where students feel heard, valued, and motivated to excel. “She takes time to understand each student’s strengths and challenges and offers support that helps them grow both academically and personally,” Hannigon said.
From staying after school for tutoring to celebrating every student milestone, Pringle is known for going the extra mile. Hannigon noted that her influence extends well beyond the classroom. “She collaborates with colleagues, contributes to school initiatives, and always looks for ways to uplift the school community,” she said.
Hannigon said what sets Pringle apart is her ability to teach more than just curriculum—she teaches life skills, instilling confidence, resilience, and a love for learning in her students. “She leads by example and encourages her students to embrace challenges as opportunities for growth,” Hannigon added.
Calling her a role model for students and fellow educators alike, Hannigon said this recognition is a celebration of Pringle’s dedication, talent, and lasting impact.
“She inspires us all to be better, to do more, and to keep striving for excellence,” Hannigon said.
