CAT TALES: A Tale of Two (Very Different) Kitties

I’m living with a menagerie. Outside are the wild animals, most of whom think my backyard, flowering plants and garden are their luncheonette. My front yard is scouted for any leftover cat food scraps or dropped food from birdfeeders by the turtles, possums, and raccoons. My whole acreage is aerated by armadillos with their pointed noses dug into the soil looking for grubs. Mostly, I have been able to live peaceably with the fauna of our paradise, although I occasionally shout at the deer as they calmly munch down my prized roses, and the birds squawk at me when their birdfeeders aren’t full.  Other than that, we mostly get along.
