History of home demonstration clubs to be presented at Shade Tobacco Museum
A page from one of Gadsden County’s antique and historic Home Demonstration Scrapbooks shows a young, local woman standing in her garden. Home Demonstration Clubs taught women in rural America better methods for gardening, canning, nutrition, and sewing, and to encourage the women to improve their families’ living conditions.

The Havana History & Heritage Society will be hosting an event next week that showcases the rich heritage that Gadsden County has in connection with Extension Service and Home Demonstration programs.
