Gadsden County arrest linked to Wakulla County case

A recent Wakulla County investigation was forwarded to the Second Judicial Circuit State Attorney’s Office where a warrant was issued, and 49-year-old Charles Shawn Allen.
According to the Wakulla County Sheriff’s Office, he was booked into the Wakulla County Jail on October 29 after being accused of knowingly and dishonestly obtaining funds from five victims for his own personal gain.
Allen is the owner of a business named Tallahassee Mobile RV Repair.
His most recent arrest in Gadsden County resulted in 11 counts of felony grand theft third degree, and three counts felony grand theft involving a victim 65 years or older.
Allen’s priors include four years served in prison out of a 5-year sentence from the year of 2004-2008. The charges were 1 count of felony battery, 11 counts of forgery/uttering, 6 counts of grand theft, 1 count of burglary of an occupied structure of conveyance, one count of fraudulent use of I.D., and 1 count of defrauding a financial business.
Earlier this year, on February 20, the Leon and Wakulla County Sheriff’s Office’s published a joint press release about the apprehension of Allen after he was investigated for fraudulent activities that left multiple local citizens impacted and listed as victims from his dishonest crimes.
According to the press release, there were a total of 11 victims including some that were senior citizens over the age of 65 years old, including an 83-year-old Havana man. It is reported that the victims paid deposits and payments for RV repair services that Allen never rendered or had intentions of doing so. Allen also allegedly refused to give refunds to those individuals he took advantage of.
On February 15, Allen was arrested by Leon County Sheriff’s Office’s Financial Crimes detectives and charged with two counts of larceny from persons over 65 years of age, two counts of grand theft $750 or more, but less than $5,000, and four counts of organized scheme to defraud $300 but less than $20,000.
Allen, a career criminal, was arrested yet again on February 19 by Leon County Sheriff Office patrol deputies for warrants obtained in Wakulla County where he was transferred into their custody to face charges in their jurisdiction.
He was arrested on July 9 and charged with three counts of fraud under $20,000, 14 counts of grand theft over $750 or more, and 2 counts of organized scheme to defraud.
